Jazz On Thursdays - Every Thursday

Jazz On Thursdays is a weekly residency all about sharing the enjoyment of jazz and making it accessible to more people. The Rising Sun Hotel is in a central location and has a long history of good music, food and service.

The 6.30 - 9.30 timeslot is perfect for people to enjoy a dinner and show. The foundation of the music is the traditional jazz piano trio (piano, double bass and drums), led by Joe Ruberto on piano. The trio is augmented with a trumpet or saxophone and complimented by a vocalist.

Joe is joined by some of Melbourne’s finest musicians, including Dean Addison, Scott Lambie, Gideon Marcus, Gianni Marinucci, Andrew Swann and Bob Venier.

 

Some of the vocalists coming up over the next few months include Ruby Page, Julie O’hara, Yvette Johansson, Chantal Mitvalsky, Fem Belling, Rebecca Mendoza and Ingrid James, just to name a few.
